Job Description

Section 1: Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Associate will provide marketing services to support our mission to make saving easy. Marketing services are required for the Ascensus corporate brand (B2B), our proprietary products (Ugift and 529 QuickView), 529 college savings plans, ABLE savings plans, and state-sponsored retirement plans (SSRP).  Each savings plan requires a different level of service, ranging from recordkeeping only (transactional forms, legal documents, fulfillment, etc.) to full service (marketing plans, media campaigns, emails, direct mails, websites, events, grassroots efforts, transactional forms, legal documents, etc.)

The position will be involved in all aspects of marketing including planning, budgeting, project management, creation, distribution, fulfillment, and measurement, analysis, vendor management, and client relationships

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

  • Work with external marketing agencies to execute marketing plan tactics
  • Prepare ongoing and annual client analysis and marketing year-in-reviews, including studying the data and drawing conclusions about trends and opportunities from a marketing perspective
  • Plan and maintain budgets; engage with creative marketing agency to execute the marketing plan tactics within budget parameters
  • Pull campaign measurement, prepare and provide periodic updates on the progress toward goals and results of marketing efforts to clients; monitor competitor marketing efforts.
  • Liaise with the Relationship Management team keeping the team informed of all marketing efforts (status of campaigns in development, results of completed campaigns, etc.)
  • Lead the scheduling and monitoring of all traffic for marketing projects using online management system; determine escalation needs as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all edits are properly incorporated and lead approvals process within team for projects and process items
  • Manage print production process from start to finish, including price modeling, print files, approving proofs, determining fulfillment options, and other related functions;

Manage email production process

Manage the complete fulfillment process from inventory monitoring to project forecast needs.

  • Prepare web edit scope documents and conduct quality reviews of web edits

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business
  • 5 years' work experience in a marketing position
  • Highly motivated, proactive, resourceful with ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent listener who can quickly determine client needs and distill into action plans and appropriate follow up
  • Proven project management skills for all size projects
  • Self-starter and fast learner who is flexible and able to respond to frequently changing business needs, lead projects through entire life cycle through to completion
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and strict attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills required to work effectively with internal and external clients and with all levels of management
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to articulate findings and assessments through to recommendations where applicable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong presentation skills
  • Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Solid understanding of the marketing communications process
  • Passion for exceptional client service
