Position Summary

As a Software Quality Analyst / Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Ascensus, you will be working in a high-energy team supporting the quality delivery of our Salesforce CRM and related enterprise applications. Passion for all aspects of software development and quality engineering is critical. We are building teams that are empowered to solve business needs through a rapid development and deployment pipeline with a strong focus on automation and high-quality releases.

In this role, you will create test scenarios, execute manual and automated tests, and log defects based on user stories as the team customizes Salesforce CRM functionality including forms, fields, objects, views, reports, dashboards, validations, workflows, and integrations with other enterprise systems. As a Scrum team member, you will help deliver solutions that adhere to software architecture strategy, coding standards, and established organizational policies and procedures.

Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position is a learning-focused role, with mentoring across multiple aspects of quality engineering and testing.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test scenarios and test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute functional, cross-browser, exploratory, security, regression, edge-case, and integration testing.
  • Perform manual testing and assist with the development and maintenance of automated tests.
  • Collaborate closely with Software Development Engineers in Test and Software Engineers to define and execute an effective testing strategy.
  • Actively participate and contribute in all Agile ceremonies as a Scrum team member.
  • Review user stories and acceptance criteria and provide feedback on testability.
  • Log, track, and validate defects using Jira or Azure DevOps (TFS).
  • Support releases and implementations to production, including validation and smoke testing.
  • Assist with test data setup and management for Salesforce and integrated systems.
  • Develop an understanding of Salesforce architecture and how CRM customizations impact quality and testing.
  • Ensure proper handling and protection of confidential data in accordance with Ascensus security and compliance requirements.

  • Assist with additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

  • Salesforce CRM experience required; Service Cloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related business or technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with manual testing techniques, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience or exposure to test automation scripting and debugging; Leapwork experience preferred.
  • Basic experience with one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python, Java, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Ability to understand technical designs and assist development teams with troubleshooting issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and take ownership of test creation and execution each sprint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clear, concise technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain expected productivity levels.
  • Business experience in the financial services or retirement industry is a plus.
  • Desire to learn and grow in test automation, Salesforce testing, and modern quality engineering practices.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Leapwork or similar low-code/no-code test automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and Scrum practices.
  • Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL queries.
  • Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST) or similar certification.

The national average salary range for this role is  70-85k in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment.
