Our internship program offers practical corporate work experience that could lead to full-time work after graduation. We are seeking students going into their senior year, graduating in the spring of 2027.

The shift is from 9 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week, starting in June and ending in August. This is a hybrid position in Greensboro, NC that pays $20 per hour.

Section 1: Position Summary

The Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) Intern works closely with team members to support the BOLI team in delivering high‑quality operational, analytical, and administrative support for clients. The intern will gain insight into BOLI products, carrier nuances, and policy lifecycle trends, exposure to financial reporting and regulatory considerations and hands‑on experience with enterprise systems and reporting tools. This role is designed for a student interested in financial services, insurance products, data analysis, or risk/benefits administration

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in professional office environment up to 4 days per week to collaborate with leaders to help meet client objectives.
  • Assist with the preparation and quality review of BOLI reporting, ensuring accuracy, which includes developing an understanding of current data validation processes to support policy administration and reporting accuracy.
  • Help maintain internal tracking tools and databases.
  • Support the policy administration team with client updates and project needs. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional internal teams.
  • Participate in special projects including Salesforce and other operational initiatives.
  • Help standardize client presentations ensuring materials are consistent, professional and aligned with team and company standards 
  • Assist with AI initiatives to support innovation within the team.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Economics, Business, Math, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. 
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
