Section 1: Position Summary

This position has significant importance due to the critical nature of the employee benefit administration function performed by the Wrangle Team for its clients by supporting two basic areas:

  • Health and Welfare Form 5500 service and
  • ERISADesk services/NDT processes

Knowledge of the Health and Welfare Form 5500, as well as the ability to pull data from multiple sources to assist and support the entire Form 5500 process is required.  

Expertise in building and maintaining professional relationships/professional communication with Wrangle staff in addition to demonstrated skill in implementing time management methods/self-direction to handle multiple tasks on any given day is essential. Interaction is primarily with Wrangle staff. 

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

H&W Form 5500 Process -

  • Assists with reviewing and finalizing submitted Plan Sponsor Data in the 5500 TED Dashboard.
  • Assists with due diligence and new file reviews.
  • Reviews and upload Schedule As into the 5500 TED Dashboard.
  • Prepares the Form 5500, including self-review, creating the snapshot and validating, and generating the Summary Annual Report.  This includes on-time, amended and DFVC 5500s.
  • Makes necessary updates on 5500s that are sent back for updates/corrections.  Check with the 5500 Representative to ensure only updates that would be in accordance with the Form 5500 Instructions are made.
  • Assists with peer 5500 reviews to facilitate the flow of prepared 5500s.
  • Assists with efiling the Form 5500.
  • Assists with the Form 5558 Extension process.
  • Assists with training associates in the 5500 process and related tasks.

ERISADesk Plan Document and NDT Process -

  • Manages Amendment and SMM templates, including Appendix attachments and delivery to clients.
  • Manages revision requests including logging to workload, assigning project ID, and saving documentation to client folder for the ERISADesk team.
  • Retrieves prior Form 5500 filings from the DOL and save to client folder.
  • Downloads platform project intakes and save to client folder.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes direction from and performs additional duties as assigned by management
  • Adheres to all Wrangle and Ascensus standard operating procedures and controls
  • Works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of urgency and accuracy.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Health & Welfare Form 5500s preferred.
  • Preferred two years or more of college or related work experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
