Section 1: Position Summary

Works closely with brokers and plan sponsors in a professional manner in all aspects of ERISA plan document services by using Wrangle resources to respond timely with accurate information and has significant importance due to the nature of the work and the relationship and communication with plan sponsors, brokers and Wrangle staff.  

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the ERISA Plan Document block of brokers and plan sponsors by establishing and maintaining a professional working relationship with the brokers and plan sponsors, managing their expectations, responding timely and professionally to email questions and issues, and utilizing Wrangle resources to meet the needs.
  • Oversees the document lifecycle from creation to publication, managing inventory, meeting deadlines, and ensuring all deliverables meet Ascensus document publishing standards.
  • Remains current on requirements under ERISA as it relates to plan documents.
  • Remains current on other related law/regulations as it relates to plan document content.
  • Partners with internal teams and individuals to complete shared tasks.
  • Partners with external clients (advisors, plan sponsors) to resolve critical issues related to Plan Compliance support.
  • Modifies existing documents and templates to align with updated benefit designs and information requirements.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for internal teams and external clients regarding ERISA and plan document requirements.
  • Reviews customization requests from external clients for incorporation in plan document drafts.
  • Incorporates new document wording to reflect legislative or administrative changes, ensuring all updates are accurate and timely.
  • Educates account teams on plan document request process and on basic ERISA plan document and SPD requirements.
  • Takes direction from management for any assistance needed in the office and/or with brokers and plan sponsors.
  • Learns and applies the applicable laws and regulations governing ERISA Health & Welfare plan document requirements, including, but not limited to ERISA and DOL and IRS regulations.
  • Takes on additional duties assigned by management.
  • Adheres to all Wrangle and Ascensus standard operating procedures and controls
  • Works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of urgency and accuracy.
  • Self-management in terms of following Wrangle’s Best Practices Plan Document Timeline, responding to emails in a timely manner and ensuring that all data is reviewed and correct responses are provided.
  • Protects, secures, and properly handles all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Requires minimum 3+ years’ experience with ERISA Compliance
  • Requires strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Requires strong skills with Excel reports and other related Office software
  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience

The national average salary range for this role is  $49K-101K in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment.
