Section 1: Position Summary

The Director – Finance is responsible for leading and scaling end-to-end offshore finance operations including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Billing, General Ledger (GL) Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), along with statutory and corporate finance responsibilities for the India legal entity. The role drives operational excellence, compliance, automation, and serves as a strategic business partner to global finance leadership.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead AR, AP, Billing, GL Accounting, and FP&A offshore teams across India.
  • Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives including RPA, workflow automation, and dashboards.
  • Lead India statutory compliance – GST, TDS, Companies Act, tax audits, transfer pricing.
  • Oversee statutory and internal audits and ensure accurate regulatory filings.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow for the India entity.
  • Act as primary finance leader for India operations and global partnerships.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and SLA frameworks for performance measurement.
  • Lead and mentor large shared services teams while building a culture of excellence. Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Leadership 

  • Provide coaching and development support in reinforcement of building a high performing team and excellence internal and external client service

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/ accounting/ commerce, and a Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in finance operations including leadership roles.
  • Hands-on expertise across AR, AP, Billing, GL close, and FP&A.
  • Knowledge of India statutory requirements (GST, TDS, Companies Act).
  • Experience managing finance for India legal entities including audits & compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of ERPs, automation tools, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to manage larger team and global stakeholders in matrix environments.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Location

  • Based in Hyderabad, India. Occasional travel may be required to company offices, regulatory bodies, or industry events.
