Section 1: Position Summary

The Head of Human Resources – India will lead and drive our human resources function across our India teams. This leadership role requires a seasoned HR professional with proven experience in global organizations who can blend local execution with global alignment. This role will partner closely with business leaders to shape a high-performance culture, implement people strategies, and support growth across our India operations.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, aligning HR strategies with business goals.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior management on talent planning, organizational design, and workforce transformation.
  • Champion a culture of performance, innovation, and employee engagement.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee all HR operations in India including employee relations, compliance with Indian labor laws, payroll governance, and policy implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to global and local HR standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, systems, and service delivery.
  • Partner with US HRIS team to design and drive metrics reporting (dashboards) aimed at supporting and evaluating program implementation and enhancements.

Talent Management & Development

  • Partner with US leader of Talent Acquisition and team to deliver end-to-end talent management efforts: workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, and career development.
  • Partner with US leader of Learning & Organizational Development to drive learning and development strategies aligned with local and global priorities.
  • Collaborate with global associate relations team to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Collaborate with global Total Rewards teams to localize compensation and benefits strategies.
  • Lead annual performance and compensation review cycles in line with market benchmarks and internal equity.

Associate Engagement & Culture

  • Design and implement engagement initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Drive employee feedback mechanisms by partnering with local leadership for annual associate survey feedback, regular associate town halls, roundtables and the like and act on insights to enhance workplace culture.

Global Collaboration

  • Work closely with global and regional HR teams to ensure consistency in HR programs, systems, and messaging.
  • Act as a bridge between global initiatives and local execution, ensuring cultural and regulatory alignment.

Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Supervision  

  • Lead a cross functional HR team in support of HR work and business goal achievement
  • Coach and develop talent in building partnerships, understanding how the Ascensus business and products work, client service delivery and partnership
  • Cultivate a high performing, collaborative HR team focused on team partnership and the Ascensus Core Values in delivering excellent service

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • Financial Services industry experience a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 7- 8 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Experience working in multinational or global organizations across matrixed environments.
  • Practical and applied knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR compliance frameworks.
  • Proven experience in managing HR teams and driving change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
