Section 1: Position Summary

The position will foremost be a learning experience, and the accepted applicant will be mentored in many aspects of their responsibilities. Specifically, this individual will assist the information security team in their daily operations as well as special projects. This may include – Assisting with our key programs: Vulnerability Management, Anti-Phishing, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Monitoring & Response, User Access Management, and Cloud Security. Experience will also be gained using our leading SEIM solution, IDS/IPS, web application firewalls, Next Generation Anti- Virus/Malware, and researching emerging threats, new security solutions and helping to generate business cases. To a degree, we will gear the position to an individual’s specific interests; however, it is designed to offer individuals a well-rounded security experience.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and deployment of information security projects, including cloud security controls, user access management, vulnerability detection, and insider threat analysis.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Knowledge of information security risks, Strong written and oral communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively (clear, concise and professionally) with all levels within Ascensus.
  • Some academic understanding of monitoring and response activities.
  • Highly organized and able to process and manage inventories of controls and findings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Adhere to instructions on routine work and takes part in new project or assignments.
