Job Summary:  Assists with trading activities for Newport’s Non-Qualified line of business by gathering data, interacting with various trustees, custodians, and insurance carriers to trade holdings for retirement plans working with Newport’s proprietary trading system and internal record keeping systems.

  • Imports market positions by client on a daily basis
  • Generates reporting used to determine client based trading daily
  • Creates and sends trade files for various trade platforms
  • Assists with researching trading issues
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any problems regarding outgoing trade files sent to vendors
  • Reviews trade files submitted by daily trading team.
  • Generates client confirmations for trades placed by Newport’s Asset and Liability Management team
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new systems and applications.
  • Presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Applies advanced mathematical concepts utilizing current spreadsheet and accounting database software programs
  • Focuses on learning in everyday activities and events
  • Collaborates with and openly shares knowledge with colleagues
  • Regular, reliable and punctual attendance

Required Education, Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • MS Office; advanced EXCEL

Preferred (but not required) education or skills for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (business degree with a concentration or concentrations in finance, investments and/or quantitative methods).
