Section 1: Position Summary

The Plan Design Consultant (PDC) is a connective branch between the Sales Organization and Installation Coordinator and is tasked with managing clients from the verbal commitment stage through to a closed sale “win” while optimizing plan design for the client’s benefit. This is a high-performing consultative role. In this position, you will work directly with clients and financial professionals to help them craft retirement plan design features that will be utilized for ongoing plan administration.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish trust with clients late in the sales process, ensuring that plan design needs are met and optimized to achieve client goals.
  • Partner effectively with External and Internal Sales Team members and Installation Coordinators as necessary to achieve sales goals and activity quotas.
  • Manage projects throughout the plan design cycle, resulting in a closed sale.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with strategic partners, TPAs and centers of influence.
  • Facilitate plan design meetings to verbal clients and financial advisors primarily via Microsoft Teams
  • Portray a strong understanding of the retirement plan industry and a mastery of Ascensus retirement plan products and services.
  • Mediate and resolve escalated client service issues when necessary.
  • Manage all business and sales related information within CRM – Microsoft Dynamics system
  • Log all activity related to sales and sales activities within CRM daily
  • Work and thrive independently in a high paced environment
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the retirement industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retirement plans with knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Able to effectively render sound advice and judgment within company guidelines and ERISA rules
  • Ability to manage pipeline information and reports, data, and insights into sales a territory

Additionally, there is an internet work speed requirement of 25 Mbps or better for individual use.
