Section 1: Position Summary

The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test  position is a hands-on role that contributes to the success at Ascensus by designing and developing automated tests, scripts, and tools to champion the code quality principles for the growing application. Passion for all aspects of software development is critical. We are building teams that are empowered to solve the business needs by having a rapid development and deployment pipeline with a focus on automation and releasing software.
As a Scrum team member, you will be responsible for delivering High-quality solutions that adhere to the software architecture strategy, coding standards, and established organizational policies and procedures.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in an agile development environment, collaborating with the team to deliver quality software iteratively
  • Develop end-to-end software test frameworks, test suites, and tools to validate product-specific features and use cases.
  • Conduct feasibility study on automation coverage, test types, and levels of tests
*Design and develop targeted automation/regression tests for cutting-edge features
  • Incorporate automated tests into our continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Participate in automation code reviews.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers.
  • Design/ build/ refactor test automation, harnesses, and code libraries to enable the team to both use and enhance them across successive projects and thereby improve automation development quality, reusability, efficiency, and team productivity
  • Perform creative exploratory testing of new features and products.
  • Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolutions
  • Ability and willingness to assist with all tasks within an Agile scrum team, writing stories, development & manual testing.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Ensure that team is in full compliance with the execution of test scripts and documentation of the results.
  • Perform periodic oversight of test reports to ensure that appropriate severities and priorities are being assessed to defects
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • BS/ MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Proficient experience as a Software Engineer, a Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, or equivalent roles.
  • Strong Experience developing test frameworks with open-source automation tools such as Selenium, or Cucumber.
  • Strong Experience with TDD, BDD
  • Proficient experience with Selenium and in writing automation scripts with one or more programming languages (e.g., C# or Java)
  • Proficient experience working with Database testing techniques using Oracle, Sybase, SQL server, with a strong understanding of database schemas
  • Experience with testing API frameworks
  • Experience with Agility Test Quadrants, Risk-Based Testing.
  • Experience with Test Management Software and Defect Management tool.
  • Experience testing in CI/CD environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in Security Testing and Performance testing

The national average salary range for this role is $80k-125k in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment.
