Section 1: Position Summary

This position will work closely with the Client Relationship Managers and Retirement Service Consultants to serve as the focal point for elite advisors and elite TPAs. Responsibilities include relationship management of elite advisors and elite TPAs ensuring a successful service experience, book of business retention and growth of existing business organically.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

  • Foster lasting relationships and promote organic growth with elite advisors and elite TPAs through value-added strategic analyses and execution of consultative solutions to further Ascensus’ reputation as a premier provider of retirement plan services. 
  • Consistently enhance the Ascensus experience to strengthen relationships and capture a greater share-of-wallet from elite advisors and elite TPAs.
  • Review existing book of business to identify plan retention; reselling existing plans as necessary
  • Maintain proficiency with multiple partner products and Ascensus’ proprietary products to effectively manage elite relationships across these platforms.
  • Maintain proficiency with regulatory, financial, accounting, service, operations and compliance aspects of the relationship management function.
  • Communication of new rollouts; providing training as appropriate.
  • Provide investment reporting support to advisors by utilizing DCIO partners.  Coordinate the request, and delivery of the reporting by partnering with the DCIO wholesalers to provide interpretations of the investment performance contained in the reporting.  This may include conference calls / meetings with portfolio managers.
  • Consistently demonstrate a superior level of proactive client focus and team work. Leverage industry knowledge to promote key intermediary satisfaction, leading to client retention and organic growth.
  • Internal advocate for elite advisors and elite TPAs and their clients by coordinating with internal Ascensus departments.
  • Identify and execute cross-sell revenue opportunities
  • Delivery of customized book of business reporting (AFCA, advanced payment reporting, Plan Illustrator, Fiduciary Benchmark and other reporting as determined)
  • Lead and/or participate in projects and initiatives related the creation of additional value for existing relationships.
  • Conduct plan-specific pricing reviews, including a review of investments, to evaluate profitability and make recommendations for pricing adjustments where appropriate to retain at-risk clients, elite advisors and TPAs.
  • Meet with C-Level executives of employers to develop education and communication strategies. 
  • Deliver participant enrollment meetings to employers to support elite advisor teams.

Section 3:  Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in retirement services industry
  • 7+ years of experience in retirement services industry, preferred.
  • Prior experience with direct client/client equivalent relationships within a financial services administrative environment
  • Ability to work independently as required, but also work within and contribute to maintaining a highly-cohesive team environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to produce high quality work within tight time constraints
  • Ability to make sound business judgments while effectively balancing client needs and organizational considerations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including group presentation experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to coordinate and run meetings attended by senior-level  personnel in both internal and external environments
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Detailed understanding of investments utilized in retirement programs
  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 license or ability to achieve in 90 days
